Stamp auction

The stamp auction is the moment when the bidding starts. During the auction it is possible to participate in bidding in various ways. We organize viewing days for stamp collectors and dealers to look at the lots in advance. Potential buyers can also view the lots online or via the catalogue. This way buyers know in advance on which lots they can bid. It is also possible for consignors to follow the auction. As a seller or interested party you have access to the online catalogue, information about the viewing days and the auction schedule via www.corinphila.nl.

For our auction in March 2025 you can consign until the 15th of December.

Bidding during the auction

Corinphila auction sales attract the attention of reknowned dealers and collectors worldwide, with the auction in the Netherlands taking place in our auction room in Amstelveen. We generate the largest possible coverage for your lots to attract buyers into bidding. As a buyer, you have the option to bid in the room, to place a written bid or to bid online (live) on lot numbers. In addition, there is an option called bidding by online agent, which means that your bid is stored encrypted on the server. The login menu makes it possible to make changes until the lot has knocked down.

  • Physical bidding in our auction room
  • Bidding through post or email
  • Online (live) bidding
  • Online auction agent bidding

Online live bidding

There is worldwide interest in our stamp auctions and not all potential buyers are able to attend the auction in person. We have a solution for this in the form of online live bidding. There are a number of conditions attached, such as registration to create a customer account. As an online live participant, you must also request an individual credit limit.

Starting prices

We determine a starting price for lots in our stamp auction and all potential buyers have the opportunity to place a bid. Our experience shows that almost all lot numbers are sold, but exceptions sometimes occur. Remaining lot numbers are still available for the starting price up to a week after the auction. If these lots unexpectedly remain unsold, they might be included for the next scheduled auction after consultation with the owner.

Sold lots

When your lots have sold, you will receive a consignment statement within two weeks after the auction. Within five weeks we will pay the stated amount minus our costs (20% consignor’s commission and €2 table fee per lot – including VAT). The results of the auction will be included in the auction archive online and a you will receive a printed result list after a couple of weeks.
