About Corinphila

Corinphila Amsterdam organizes two large international auctions a year in Amstelveen. These auctions can be followed live in our auction room or online. More and more customers in the Netherlands and abroad bid online with Corinphila’s own live bidding program. Through the Global Philatelic Network we reach customers on every continent. Each auction consists of approximately 3000 lots, the majority of which are stamps and postal history items. In addition the auctions also include postcards, coins, medals, banknotes and philatelic literature.

Corinphila’s philosophy is to achieve the best results for our consignors. Our specialists as well as our colleagues at our international sister companies know how to appreciate and describe your collection at the highest level. Their extensive experience enables us to offer consignments on the worldwide auction market for the best results.

Every auction we produce a full colour, hard copy auction catalogue that is sent to a few thousand collectors and dealers globally and which is also available online on our website. Regular newsletters and social media posts keep our customers and those of our sister companies informed of the current auction offerings. Our auctions are also placed on internationally renowned collectors’ websites such as PhilaSearch, Stamp Circuit, Stamp Auction Network and Delcampe.

From Wiggers de Vries to Corinphila

In 1974, the late Wim V. M. Wiggers de Vries took over the stamp auction house Postema and gave the company his name. Gerard J. Garritsen was already working at Wiggers de Vries pzv, which he took over in 1988. After almost 25 years in the old city center of Amsterdam the company moved to Amstelveen in 1998.

In 2010, the company was acquired by by the Global Philatelic Network group and joined renowned sister companies in Germany, Switzerland, Hong Kong and the United States. Wiggers de Vries pzv then changed to Corinphila Veilingen, Corporation Internationale de Philatélie, the oldest stamp auction house in Zurich in Switzerland (founded in 1921, stamp auctions since 1925). In 2024 Corinphila Veilingen changed its name to Corinphila Amsterdam.
